Anything under #10 sounds good to me. I think we enjoyed a weak week of opponents including beating TU even though we played a poor game. And we will benefit from others defeats. WE face a much more challenging week coming up. SO keeping a less than #10 ranking will be a more challenging accomplishment.

Michigan State, Miami and Duke all lost twice. I don't see how they don't all fall out of the top 10.

Scary how high we can rise if we come out of next week undefeated.

Then the next four will be really tough. UH has come down to earth with a bang in recent days. They will be mad at moody. Then Temple and Memphis before UH gets a second swing at us. This week may well be the apex of our season rankings wise. I'm just loving the run.

4. Michigan St - 2L's (including vs. Wisconsin today)

9. Duke - 2L's

After holding serve @ Tulane today, we are poised to move up in the polls tomorrow. We won't likely pass Kansas or Maryland, but it would seem MSU, Miami, and Duke would all drop out of the Top 10, with 2L's each this week.

So...here's (hopefully) looking at the 7 slot tomorrow afternoon...6, if we are lucky (if Maryland drops to 7).

My guess:

1. OU
2. UNC
3. Villanova
4. KU
5. Xavier
6. Maryland
7. SMU
8. West Va
9. UVA
10. ATM

UVA goes down tonight!

Yep, they sure did...scratch them from that Top 10 now...

Didn't MD just lose to a team we beat by more than 20? I know they will, but that makes ranking them higher than SMU a little hard to explain...

They sure did...and I believe that was without LaVert (think he was nursing an injury), but not certain.

Maryland was #3 last week...can't see the combo of them dropping enough and us rising enough for them to be ranked below us...not to mention they are in a P5 with decent basketball schools. Voters love that.

I feel like they should be right below us at #7 (with us at 6)...but not expecting it. As someone else mentioned, I also won't be surprised to see us at #8, with West Va jumping us to that 7 spot, after an admittedly strong week - knocking off #1 KU, and falling at #2 OU by just 2 points.

we are getting close to the point where our conference is going to start hurting us (even though we are getting into the meat of our conference). AP voters tend to be low information voters when it comes to teams outside their local team/conference. Low information voters will latch on the the AAC being weak and use that to justify keeping teams from the Big12, Big 10 and even the Big East in front of us even if we keep winning and they drop some games. Also the second we lose 1 game expect us to drop into the mid to lower teens.

Our conference is not very good this year, we can't afford to lose any games or our AP spot will drop significantly.

A close loss at UConn, Cincy or maybe Temple probably wont ding us too bad.

Anything else will drop us like a rock.
