If BYU + another school like Cinci/Uconn/Memphis got into the B12, I doubt that it would seriously impact the conference or SMU. It would, however, be brutal if Cougar High gets into the B12 and we don't.

They can't hear the chatter from the kids' table.

There's only one real vote, and then there are 2-3 schools that can create some noise. The rest just need to sit quietly until the chairs stop moving.

Don't see expansion in the big 12. OU and possibly WVU are the only schools that actually want it.
Most of the little brother, TTU, OSU, ISU, KSU, Baylor, TCU, love having UT and OU on their home schedule every other year. They know what it does to exposure, away fans etc. Those schools don't want to be in the other division not getting OU/UT every other year at home. OSU's football ticket policy is based on having UT or OU on their home schedule every year.
OSU and others have seen want giving a bid to TCU has done to tcu, it legitamitzes them as a big boy in texas. Anyone notice how dominant TCU and Baylor were in recruiting over OU and OSU? Why go north a couple of hours when u can stay closer to home and play the big boys as a big boy?
The little brothers don't want to split that pie even more.
UT doesn't want to give up the LHN.
I think OU and KU or WVU go to the SEC, UT stays with the other 7 and they add like Cinci Memphis and byu.

I'm sure WV would love to see Cincy or someone closer to them get in but one big question is whether there are 2 teams out there that can each add/generate another $25 million revenue for the conference. BYU is a maybe and perhaps Cincy (assuming people in Big 10 Ohio might warm to Texas football, because Cincy doesn't have a large enough following). I just don't see any current member wanting to dilute their "take" just to go to a divisional concept. The motivation is for revenue from a championship game but ONLY IF that helps them land one of the final 4 playoff spots and the really big money. With OU having earned a place at the table this year, no rush to make any changes. As for going to 12 teams and divisional play, what to do with your premier game (last time I checked, it is still Texas vs OU). Do you keep them in the same division to eliminate each other from the championship game or separate them in hopes they meet for the title...but if that happens, what to do with the Red River Rivalry game during the regular season? Big XII has "foundation" problems ever since Nebraska, Colorado, Missou and A$M bailed. No other P5 conference has seen any of it's membership poached an it all seems to come back to Texas' arrogance. If/when Texas wants to invite new members, it will happen

Sounded reasonable until you became looney with your last sentence. KU going to the SEC? University of KANSAS to the SEC? Quick, find some help or you're in trouble.

My sense is that most TCU people are pro-expansion but only because it would/could stabilize the conference. Most fans like me live in fear of UT or OU taking their ball and leaving. If it weren't for instability then I am fine with 10 teams.

yeah - KU to SEC is almost as silly as WVU to SEC. They both bring less than nothing to the table in new eyeballs.
If there is big 12 expansion it has to start with BYU - they are the only one that adds dollars instead of subtracts, once you start dividing by a bigger number of teams.

Your comments are grossly uninformed. KU and WVU are both top 25 brands in terms of licensing and sales. As Big 12 schools go, UT is #1, OU is around #12, WVU is #22, and KU is #24 (Tech is like #28 IIRC). Yeah, those two bring "nothing."

Nobody cares about licensing and sales. Its all about TV markets and TV money. Sure - like this thing turns on t-shirt sales.
