Sorry for the noob question, but are we not allowed to play in the American tournament? I didn't think that was consider post-season given the committee factors in championship runs (and yes I know we can't play in NCAA and NIT).

You guys are a little harsh. I asked the same question when the sanctions were announced and you were much nicer to me and I am an experienced old fart.

No we cannot play in the conference tourney. And it makes sense. Winner of the tourney gets an automatic bid and a team that cannot participate in the NCAA tourney really should not have a part in determining who does. Plus if we won the tourney, I would think the NCAA would not be obligated to extend an automatic invited to the second place team, and that hurts the conference.

Our post season will be in Europe.

I'll be there. Looks like we are going to be light. Made Memphis and Conn conference tourneys, NIT finals, and NCAA at Louisville, so had to make this basically our post season. Was secretly hoping for shot at undefeated, but playing for conference champs is pretty cool. Got tickets in section 112 2 months ago via Cincy. Is there a SMU section?

There will be a lot more than 4. There were 10 SMU fans in my hotel lobby this morning. One of them also told me that when they rented a car the rental car guy told them they were the 10th SMU group he had seen.
