Looking at his coaching timeline in that link and I'm curious why he went from being the head coach at North Texas to being an assistant at a community college. What happened at NT?

It was the 90s. UNT was a crap program. 5-22 in the Southland the year before he took it over. He made them better but not good and they took a step back when they moved to the Big West. So he was asked to leave. FYI, he was the head coach, not an assistant, at Hutchinson.

With that amazing resume I don't understand why we didn't hire him as head coach 4 years ago instead of Larry. From reading this board I have learned that he is a recruiting machine and is the real reason we have been beating big time programs for recruits, and he is also a coaching genius. We could have saved so much money and all of the terrible problems that Larry caused.

I often wonder if this is really a sorority house masquerading as a message board.

Jank wouldn't have been my first choice, 4 yrs back, but many preferred a more sustainable track, myself included.
