Since P5 programs already have plenty of film on him playing against P5 competition, there is no reason for him to risk injury by playing behind a JUCO OL in a game that doesn't really matter. He made a smart decision.

How does that work? Is clock still ticking so he loses a year of eligibility, or can he "redshirt" w/ 3 years remaining?

Gotcha. I'm surprised A&M isn't all over him -- seems like the perfect fit with Knight out after this year and all of their recent QB defections

They might be all over him and we just don't know about it. I think he keeps everyone at bay until he gets an idea of where Briles ends up going.

Is there serious word that he will go somewhere? Just imagine the nightmare of public backlash if he's hired at any university in any capacity. How's that conversation going to go on the in home recruiting visit? "So why should I play for you after all the girls you let get raped?" Almost like "do you still beat your wife?"

Liberty ought to hire Briles-he first needs to be saved before anyone will hire him. That means either Jesus or Nick Saban

Note-Saban's recent hire of Steve Sarkisian

I think the combination of turning a blind eye to sexual assault and being 60 will be very hard to overcome. Kiffin and Sark are young and and their transgressions were self-inflicted.

Briles will end up at LSU or Auburn. Stidham will follow.

Neither of those programs will hire Briles. You don't understand who makes these decisions if you think so. Presidents want to advance their entire university, not just their athletic departments. There is NO reason to draw fire on yourself by hiring this person and then having something happen. That would mean the president is fired instead of the coach.
