It worked last time we hired a DC (who was one of the best in the country) without head coaching experience. Oh wait.............................

Look at who is #8 in the country!

Yep Sandusky University!

Baylor will survive this scandal.

And when they do...who will be the "hero" that brought them back from the "dumpster fire?

Penn State has a history of succeeding without cheating. Baylor doesn't. Some kids dream of going to Penn State. I don't think that's true with Baylor...

Penn State is also the flagship program of their state. Not at it's best 3rd or 4th fiddle. Baylor is a tough gig. Especially if Texas rights the ship with their next hire. Not too mentioned you're down at least 1 recruiting classes and most likely 2, compared to your rivals in the B12.

Everyone needs to prepare themselves for a coaching search that starts on Sunday.
Meachum isn't a bad candidate at all.

Of course no analogy is 100% exactly the same, but
Kids have dreams of playing in major conferences in full new stadiums.
Is Baylor going to compete with Bama? Uh duh no...they don't have too.
Penn State had a catastrophic scandal...in some ways worse than Baylor.
A Penn State coach raping children in athletic showers vs players raping an adult.
Both horrible....both attempted cover-ups....one cover-up for many years.
Penn State has bounced back after predictions of doom.
Baylor just built a new stadium....
If you think Baylor doesn't survive this with a new high paid coach....
I think you are dreaming.
Quit letting jealousy blind you because they got in the conference & we got death.

But their deal isn't over and starting new from now. Their deal is going to go for at least another year. New guy cant start being hero until it bottoms, and that is at least a year out. Its not jealousy - it predicting based on history how these deals work through the system. This is the fed we are talking about, not the NCAA.

Once they are done with that I agree with you - in that conference they will recover. The guy that takes it one has three years of misery in front of him.

Lincoln Riley or Doug Meachem would be really good candidates.

Hoping jimhagle is the Bill Mitchell for HCCM in this case but I think he's gone too.

Would it surprise anyone if he came down with the "flu" or something?
