I think we all just need to go straight to the final stage: Acceptance

mark- I think most of us have accepted the fact that he is gone.
More interesting is why was he so p!$$ed that he started looking around?
And what is being done to get a better replacement here.
let's hope hope hart can do better than getting LB and then he leaves, getting CM and then he promptly leaves. We need a coach who will be here for at least 3-4 years. JMHO

Hart did not get LB. That was Orsini. Don't know how you can control a coach leaving. Neither Houston nor SMU nor anyone else can ultimately control that. I guess SMU could get a coach nobody wants and he would stay for as long as youn want or until they fired him.

Redpony, this will likely be a cause of frustration for you for like, forever.
As long as we are non P5, if our HC is successful, there are absolutely ZERO guarantees we can retain him for 3-4 years.

gee- there are a number of coaches that are happy where they are at and have likely been approached multiple times to move for more money. guess you would have to drive a little to the west to confirm that.
sorry-forgot that Orsini (turner) hired LB.

I am absolute elated and proud that for the first time since the 80s we have a coach that is good enough and well thought of that he can be taken from us. I guess we could continue to get mediocre coaches and just keep during them.

What west coaches in non P5 conferences are you talking about other than maybe the Boise coach who left Arky State after one or two years.

Re: Why is it a given? Pros vs. Cons
my reference was not limited to non-p5. (actually the 'west' comment was directed at TCU).
However how many AAC coaches have been with the same school for over two years. I don't know as I haven't looked but I suspect there are a few.

I agree MRydel, with the exception of 1 school at 1 point in time during that other school's history.
And in typical SMU fashion, that 1 school is Baylor. No commitments other than those on our roster.

I feel like Morris is leaving us sooner than I would have liked, but he got the gold mine. How can you blame him? Patterson is a rarity for G5 and now as a P5 no need to go anywhere.
