I'm wrong more often than not about these things, but I still believe that Baylor over rates its prospects. They may have money, but Morris wants to go to A&M eventually and I am sure that Baylor wanted assurances that Morris would not leave if offered the job with the Aggies when it comes up. My guess is that Sumlin sticks around for another year. SEC West is a coach killer. Chad can polish his resume next year with a bowl berth.

This is very good news, IMO.

I know some of us on here think this is a bad thing...but man. I was not looking forward to starting over again. Chad has us trending up and I am excited to see another recruiting class and another season of progress. We talk about wanting loyalty in our coaches...but we are already judging HCCM without hearing what exactly happened behind the scenes. Seems to me like the dude just did a little flirting.

If this news holds true, Chad WAS loyal to SMU. And SMU was loyal to Chad by paying that man his money. Word is his assistants are getting paid, too. And some upgraded facilities. I am totally cool with doing a little flirting with Baylor in order to get some of Morris's wishes met....as long as both sides remain loyal at the end of the day. And as long as Baylor is left holding the bag.

I am about to chug a redbull for Chad. And for Tempo.

I have liked and wanted Chad Morris from day one, but hopefully next time he wants to leave for greener pastures he will take a card out of Coach Spurrier's playbook and leave for aTm the way Coach Spurrier left Duke to go to Florida. Spurrier is still loved at Duke and I'm sure Coach Morris can do the same with us. Now, Chad let's get the best recruiting class ever and win a boat load of games next year.

If you meant me, I am not on Scout...just figured IPF would finally be written into a contract if HCCM indeed stayed at SMU. Glad to see that is the case. I don't have much $$ to give (with 2 small kids and a wife who is a teacher) but I will gladly donate what I can to the IPF cause.
