Just continual proof we have not practiced free pitches seriously going back years given some of the easy corrections that could be made.
Has cost us games and will continue to unfortunately.

FTs are also a mental thing, but practice is to develop a consistent stroke

Agree. Sometimes it is form and not just mental.

I don't know how it is under Jank, but under LB they would spend a ton of time practicing free throws, and the % always improved as the season went along.

D.J. Hogg gets a lot more minutes and he's a 50% (Not) Free Throw shooter

Maybe some of these coaches and players should consider the underhand free throw from the past. As I recall, an NBA HOF player named Barry used the underhand "basket free throw" and averaged roughly 92 % for his career. If a kid is having problems time to consider other available techniques.

If you watch Florida, you will see a player named Barry who uses that method. I watched the OT of their games yesterday and he was 100% in OT with at least 6 made.
I assume he is related.

if any of yall listen to podcasts, you should check out "the big man can't shoot" from malcolm gladwell's 'revisionist history' series. really interesting research into why people refuse to shoot underhanded, including why Wilt inexplicably went back to overhand FTs. Rick Barry interviewed at length too.

I want him to start at PG and force him to get his [deleted] together. Kid could be a great 4 year PG for us.

He just needs to keep working hard to earn more than the 5 minutes he got against Tulane. Gu is playing well so it's a pretty strong 6 man rotation right now

Yep, Especially in those kind of games you would like to see him play more and make some sort of impact. You can tell Jank doesn't trust him by his lack of 2nd half minutes in every game.
