It certainly had to affect his ball-handling, and his ability to catch passes.

Also, did anyone else notice that Simpson had a tooth knocked out? I didn't see how it happened, but I wonder if it made him a little more gunshy around the rim. I trust he's having it fixed before the trip west?

Pat took a Dodo elbow in the kisser one day last week in practice. I believe he played the OSU game with it out as well. He's wearing a mouthpiece to help but it won't be fixed before the road trip.

It's quite a look. He kind of has a David Letterman/Michael Strahan look going now.

if you've ever tried to shoot a basketball with even a couple of fingers taped together on your non-shooting hand, it still affects your shot... give you a much different "feel" on the ball

Stallion - You might be right but he is the most consistent player on our team at this point so I like to get lathered up about him because he is improving (one of the few big men who have under
our coaches). He did miss several shots against Tulsa. As I said in my earlier post - he was fouled repeatedly while shooting and missed because of being hacked - but did not get free throws which would have boosted his production. Also, he was injured as other posters have stated. He has some skills, plays hard, and enjoys playing the game. I like him a lot as do others as shown by their posts.

hey quality backups on a tournament quality teams need to be consistent, good players-you don't win big games without guys like him-I have no problem with his effort or his improvement-just with the notion that he's the kind of Center we need to go to the NCAA tournament.

That’s exactly the point. Castro is not a true center at 6’8". I have no doubt that he has the talent to start at the 4 with most major colleges.

BTW has anybody located Castro because he appears to have disappered last Nite? He was last seen boarding a plane to Fresno with teammate Justin Isham who also seems to be missing.
