Semi started and played 28 minutes in his first SL game. He had five points and two rebounds which included a highlight dunk. They play again this evening on NBA TV at 6pm.

Summer league is a horrible environment for a kid like Semi. He's a humble subdued kid that lacks alpha or the means to even be aggressive. At his size, his inability to break anyone down via the bounce, makes him a one trick Pony who mostly floats of the perimeter, passes the ball away, and occasionally launches from deep. Watching jaylen Brown, Fultz and Tatum last night illustrates the difference getting your own makes in the league

Nice game for Ben today - 7 points & 5 boards. He made his only 3-point attempt too.

Teams that have that alpha star might not be looking for that quality in a new hire. I figure Semi to be the bench 3&D option that doesn't do star things but plays team ball. (I'm a basketball dummy so I don't have the vocabulary yet and correct me if I'm wrong.)

You aren't wrong, but he'd have to learn to play D lol, specifically on the perimeter.

I guess we'll see more tonight. So far I haven't spotted many people scoring over either Semi or Ben. It happens but they aren't very frequent victims.

I like how Semi is attacking the boards but he needs to hit those open jumpers. The guys on the broadcast just said it likely Boston will move Crowder. That's good for Semi. The end of roster needs to be on the cheap after acquiring Hayward.

Commenters on CelticsBlog are liking Semi's defense but he needs to be more aggressive. They call him the Terminator- probably thanks to this

I miss Semi's hair. I hope he is able to finish around the basket better and that he continues to get better in defense.
