I tweeted @ESPN and @SMUMustangs. I have no idea if it helped but I'm going to assume yes since the feed is working somewhat better now... *knock on wood*

Since apparently the whole world is only petrified of what they see on Twitter - whenever this happens in the future just go straight there and say if it sent fixed in 5 minutes you and everyone you know are canceling ESPN.

I watched it through Apple TV and Uverse. I missed the entire first half (I'm pissed), but on the positive side I got to re-watch the game this morning

The problem must have been with the ESPN app, because I had the same problem streaming with Verizon Fios in Hoboken. Tested my connection on Speedtest.net and I was consistently getting 100 down/100 up. Even on my AT&T cellular connection, I was getting 50 down/12 up and couldn't get the game to play consistently.
I tried using the Watch ESPN app, the main ESPN and the desktop website, and they all were terrible. There were maybe a handful of five-minute spurts where I could watch the game. When it was working, the picture quality looked solid putting it on my TV via Chromecast. But it was so inconsistent that I gave up about midway through the third quarter.

There was an iOS update for the Watch ESPN app today. "Bug fixes and performance improvements" claims the release notes
