I know, I know. Either you play A&M, TCU, Baylor, and end up 1-3 or you're 4-1 playing no one. SMU fans are a fickle bunch. I go to the games but it's hard for me to persuade new potential fans unless it's Baylor, Tech, TCU, A&M, etc.

We need at least one name opponent home game a year. Who's our best home game this year? UCF.

I'm afraid it's soon going to be a dead horse. A couple of months ago I got a solicitation for funds to pay current operating expenses. Never a good sign.

Yet, people complain when others ask if there's any extra tickets thet want to get rid of, or aren't using. I've been a season ticket holder for nearly 10yrs, on my teacher salary. My colleagues, mostly teachers, would love to attend games, but our salaries get stretched enough. If you have extras, I always have extra friends willing to go.

early games dont suit students, i was up at 9 to go to brunch at 10, brunh finishe at 11:30, then went to a pregame till 1, tried to go to the boulevard, got food at cox tent, was then 2, was told ,music was shut off at frat tents, went to pregame more, then nobodys on campus for the game because frat tents were shut down an hour before game start.

The cake is baked for attendance this year. We need to do well and go to a bowl and then actually spend money on an actual marketing campaign AND continue to win.
Basketball had the most perfect timing ever -- but they continue to fill Moody because they win and beat top opponents. That hasn't yet happened in football.

free food for students is probably the best way to get us there.

It's about marketing. Pay chad and pay marketing. We'll win and we'll get butts in seats. Now I know they have tons more money, etc but I can't drive 3 miles in austin without seeing some damn longhorn bs. I know Dallas is very different but we need more smu signs, more logos in stores etc. need a huge marketing blitz. The returns on the investment will come. Will also benefit basketball. Just win and promote like hell. I just want to see us routinely get about 20k in the stands, then sell out with name opponents like tcu, Houston etc. I believe it would happen with the right marketing. The product is about there. The offense is as exciting as its ever been.

Everyone knows that the solution to our attendance problem is an indoor practice facility. Once you build it, people will show up. Also, we need alternative uniforms. Then the school will be sold out.

Marketing would be nice. People are actually talking about us on Dallas sports radio now...at least a little bit where before there was 0.

Can't compare football attendance to basketball. Remember that in the remodel, Moody was ultimately downsized from 10k capacity to 7500 making it easier to pack the house. In hindsight, maybe Ford should not have as many endzone seats. A club like they had at Texas Stadium might have been a nice alternative but it's good to have 32k seats when we do get to host a former SWC opponent. I think at one time the NCAA was requiring 30k to be D-1 FBS but not sure about that.

If the male students were more real guys they would leave the sorority brunch early to go tailgate. Then the soroiities would stop messing up game day with stupid brunches.

This is Texas. We do football, not "brunch"
