Neighbor of mine here is an Illinois State guy and although he likes Jank, he says their criticism of him was always his "soft" scheduling. 1st game post exams is usually a cupcake or at least a game you SHOULD win, even if the guys are a little off. Our schedule has had it's share of ciupcakes, but overall not a bad non-conference slate

IMHO this season’s OOC schedule was darn near perfect. The young’uns had enough cupcakes to learn and we got some impressive wins. At a minimum all I would ask for is the last 5 minutes of the WKU game back.

Ummm... who's calling our NC schedule soft? That's crazy.
We are in excellent shape and none of our losses are bad.

Speaking of scheduling, do we know which early season tournament we are going to next year?

We have a good mix of cupcakes, competitive "mid-majors" and ranked P5 teams on the schedule this year. Didn't say this schedule was soft. Comment was that a neighbor of mine who is an Illinois State grad and has followed their program and knew Jank when he and Nic were at ISI told me the only complaint ISU folks had was that Jank scheduled "soft" when he was there. I pointed out to him that when you are a quality mid-major hoops program like Illinois State has been over the years, it's tough to get ranked teams to give you home/home series.

Yeah.... we could use a few new ones. I want some Big East.

Give me overhyped P5 teams with brand recognition vs. well coached, gritty Big East teams all day. Just my opinion.

I would love to see an American vs BE challenge a-la big 10 vs acc. Problem is bottom half of American likely would get obliterated/be an RPI risk for those Big East teams.
