It will require an NCAA berth AND a win or two to get folks here off Jank’s back.
When does that happen? I’d guess that if it DOESN’T By this time in 2021 then the discussion becomes real.

Tough luck this season will keep this group from any post season play, but that has to be the expectation going forward...either dance or settle for NIT but just make it to the post season every year. Won't be easy because there are plenty of schools in the AAC with same expectations. Just need for everyone to continue to improve and for bball talk to be about the Power 6

Getting 5 or 6 teams in the big show would be huge for the AAC

Sounds like Penny to Memphis and firing Tubby is a done deal. Crazy.

Penny will be a monster in recruiting. Once the buzz dies down and he has to coach that will be interesting.

What about Larry Brown as assistant?

Jank is going to get P5 looks for sure, and deservedly so. 54-13 at SMU with strong results at Illinois State as well. The guy's pulled off miracles here given the sanctions, but overcoming losing your two best players this year with the short bench just proved too much. I think he's happy here and in it for the long haul.

No mention of that from what I’ve seen. Most don’t think it’s realistic, but don’t think we will know much about the staff until it’s announced. If they get LB as an assistant that would suck.

I’ve heard Paul Hewitt and Mike Miller’s names thrown around a few times as potential assistants.

Jank is not a bad coach. But whenever Shake leaves that’s when we see what he can really do one way or the other imo.

Let's hope he can find another Nic Moore who was too small for Larry

6’3ΓÇ¥ and above please. Defensive liabilities need not apply. Give me a Rob Gray type: one hot dog, hold the bun.

(And this is not meant to be a cut on Nic in any way.)

Apparently Tubby has a meeting with the brass scheduled for today.

Tubby actually has done a great job this year. He pretty much relied exclusively on juco and transfers this year.
