That could very well be it. I knew he went back to Georgia but not as a coach.

Cavan had absolutely no support - have to wonder what his career would have looked like had he not taken the SMU job. In a recent unscientific survey of the SMU fan base - Mike Cavan is easily the least hated former SMU coach of the last 20 years.
Speaking of Cavan - guess who was recently named the Cleveland Browns director of college scouting?
Let's just say ACT scores will not be a problem with the Browns in the foreseeable future...

Maybe this is a living example of the Peter Principle. Everyone works at one level above their maximum optimization. And therefore they are ineffective. He's going to have a rough year and then be on the hot seat next year.

Chad got a six-year deal worth $3.5 million annually. I guess they won't be able to fire him next year even if they want to.

Realize a couple of things. First their program had reached a level pretty similar to ours at the end of JuneΓÇÖs time. Many fans are griping but those in the respectable media and in power are saying what is happening was not unexpected.
And second, Broyles is dead and Chad was hired by a new AD. I am sure the leash will be long in that a new AD is not going to readily admit a mistake on his first hire.
Chad may not make it (I still think he will) but he will be given every opportunity to make it as long as they can tolerate.

Someone said they found a black mold truck out in front of the house. But no one could really see it...

A lot of the fans here are complaining that UA is a 30 point underdog to Auburn. I guess they have forgotten they lost to Auburn by an average of around 40 points the last 2 years giving up over 50 points in both.

I believe Tom Rossely became an OC in the NFL. Is that a step up over being an HC in college?

Yes I would think the Green Bay Packer OC job is a better gig and more rewarding job than the SMU Head Coach job....i guess it all depends....might be better working with kids vs spoiled NFL guys....but crowd wise it would have to be better than SMU. I love Tom Rossley...great guy.

I don't want to disrespect Mike Cavan or Mike Caven. Point taken.
