Whoever came up with the reseat and OOC scheduling should be fired. It’s a shame seeing it so bare.

In season opener, SMU shot 25% (9/36) on three-pointers. Jackovich said he wasn't worried, that team has guys who can hit from long range.

So far today, SMU is shooting 50% (6/12) — McMurray is 3/3, Chargois is 2/3

Alum11, this is a decent opponent. They only brought about 20 fans but it’s better than Western Carolina, SWAC or Dallas Christian.

This may be a dumb question because basketball isn't my strong suit, but when the tallest guy on the floor for USM is 6'1" why aren't we working the ball inside?

Probably because that’s not primarily how this current offense works. The team is more of a 3 point shooting team now. But that is just my observation.

Only get to watch the first half today, but my observation:

* We don't work the ball inside, even against a small opponent. Would like to see more in-and-out game. Not a very strong post game out of our guys.

* We shoot the ball well, but don't really have a lot of players who can dribble penetrate. Can't force doubles off the bounce. Whitt has handles, but the other team sags off to limit him and dares him to shoot. McMurray, Dixon, Douglas, White don't really scare people on driving the ball. Neither does Mike or Hunt or Chagois. It is something missing from the capability of the team. Lack of dribble penetration combined with no post game will make for bad offense when the shooting isn't right.

* Whitt's three looked horrible. Not a good sign if that is what it looks like after the shot was fixed.

* Defensively, USM is hitting a lot of off balance deep threes. That can't continue, but our defenders need to step out to the line instead of sitting behind it.

For what it's worth, SMU outscored Southern Miss in the paint in the first half: 6-4
