I am excited that the conference games are now beginning. It should be an interesting
season. I think the Mustangs will do better than many of you on this board would believe, but

It is a different situation for the Mustangs. From the 2014-15 through 2017-18 seasons, they began conference play as the fourth pick or better according to the coaches' poll and won the regular-season title twice.
The Mustangs dropped a bit to a predicted finish of sixth this season. They are the hunter instead of the hunted.
"Psychologically, it's always better to be the hunter,'' Jankovich said. "I like that mentality. We have a lot of hunger from the guys who are back.''

no one, that I saw, was unsupportive of the players. you have to look at the macro of the program as a whole and that falls on the shoulders of the HC. recruiting is abysmal. in-game coaching is questionable. it took the last remaining LB recruit to return from injury (unless you count whitt) to get the team looking mediocre against bad teams.
