Re: 2020 Schedule Released
Might be able to get to Philly on a Thursday against Temple unless it gets flexed to Saturday.

Yes and so is Abilene Christian

This schedule is brutal, I just don't see how this favors us at all, we
could have some bad games with this.

Going to be really tough to defend Ford Stadium with this home slate but if this year's team is as good as last year's, I would expect season attendance records at Ford to be eclipsed.

As others have said here, Mrydel, you are frequently wrong. So let me repeat my statement which you ignore: "Only one P5 team scheduled. Don't we get enough of SFA and Texas State? Next we'll be like Baylor and be scheduling Incarnate Word." Now, you want to dismiss this by telling which school my older brother attended?

Yeah, well, blame Morris for those. Dude tried to pad his schedule, but it looks like SD has a little better grasp of the situation.

Little Ricky should be going door to door selling tickets, but, if Sonny goes undefeated at home with this schedule....better get his statue ready.

Re: 2020 Schedule Released
Serious question. I'm curious what a good schedule is. Obviously there's not going to be one that pleases everyone. And it's tough to get a home and home with Ohio State. What would a perfect hypothetical schedule look like?
For reference, Cincinnati's got Austin Peay, Western Michigan at home and is then away at Miami (Ohio) and Nebraska.
Memphis has Arkansas State and UT-Martin at home and Purdue and UTSA away.

I'll bite...
NTSU to satisfy the Denton-ites and their fans will travel the 35 miles...
TCU...
Kansas...perrenial doormat and still P-5. They will do a home/home for the recruiting opportunity..
Grambling/New Mexico/Vandy/...a team that is generally off the usual radar.

Re: 2020 Schedule Released
What's not to like? Couple of "warm-up" games to get our feet wet and sort out the lineup. Then tougher at NTSU, and tough TCU/Memphis at home. Then a break to heal up for the rest of the schedule. Enough there to be ranked if we win. Rival Houston late and a home date with AAC favorite Cincinnati. All good, but the end of season game at ECU might be scary. Their QB last year was good.

Re: 2020 Schedule Released
This is the BEST home schedule we've had, maybe ever, at Ford Stadium.
There's only one warm up game, which is fine for the first home game of the season. The rest are legit.
Anyone whining about this home schedule is clueless.

I am not sure how this is brutal. We are not playing any P5 schools other than TCU. The Thursday turnaround game after TCU will be tough but Memphis plays on the road on the previous Saturday albeit against a creampuff. Our toughest conference games will all be at home. I'm not saying we will win 10 games again, but this is not a killer schedule.

Re: 2020 Schedule Released
Uhhhh yeah....I'll take this BEST CASE prediction RIGHT NOW!
SMU Football Schedule 2020 Prediction, Best Case Scenario
10-2: The Mustangs get out to 3-0 without a problem, and then they split the nasty home games against TCU and Memphis before getting hot in the second half of the year. They beat both Cincinnati and Navy, take out Temple, and win shootout after shootout to take the West and go off to the American Athletic Conference championship.
SMU Football Schedule 2020 Prediction, Worst Case Scenario
5-7: There isnΓÇÖt any luck against the better teams. The Mustangs lose to TCU and Memphis, and drop the date at Tulane. To make things worse, they lose the home date to Cincinnati to put the pressure on in November. The D doesnΓÇÖt hold up against Temple or Houston on the way to a losing season.
