I think Larry Brown and The General are the same age.

Bobby Knight is a POS. Firm no on him. Brown and Knight are polar opposites in how they treat people.

Bobby can certainly be a huge jerk...but didn't Bobby Knight graduate his players?
Would Bobby Knight have recruited Keef Frazier?

2. Beilein
3. Keller
Pitino and Beilin have name recognition and that might help in recruiting but both guys have some age on them vs Keller, that's for sure. Interesting that Beilin has NEVER been an assistant coach and in his 41 years as a college coach (including his JC stint) he's had only 5 losing seasons. Pitino had only one losing season in over 30 years at the college level, but he was coaching blue bloods compared to Beilin. While I would love a splash hire, I could warm to Keller considering who he has worked under and the success he's had at SFA. Steve Forbes at ETSU is another guy who is Keller's age and has a great record since he took over the East Tennessee program. He's also worked under Billy Gillespie, Bruce Pearl and Gregg Marshall so I think he and Keller have similar resumes

We need to hit a home run. LB has shown what is possible with greater odds. We know what Moody can be like. Even without 5 star recruits, a coach like Pitino would do serious damage with 3/4 stars. The timing is right. The NCAA will be overwhelmed with Kansas, Arizona, TCU and the other FBI schools. An occasional visit by a stripper or two will not invite any scrutiny.

What's your definition of "refreshed"?

After watching ETSU earn their NCAA berth tonight, I like Steve Forbes more and more. Someone is going to hire him away from ETSU soon.

A potential benefit of hiring Pitino.
At 68, it has the possibility of being his last gig, much like LB, especially if he likes the HP lifestyle and has some gratitude to SMU giving him another opportunity.

I think Pitino would like this gig.

Just a thought from left field....
Becky Hammon or Timmy D.
One of them is going to be the successor for Pop. The other isn't. Either one would be a quality coach and generate a ton of positive press.

Hammon would do better with the men than Mays has done with the women!

Re: Coaching Search Who Ya Want?
I still say I would like someone who has first hand witnessed Moody Magic and knows what it can be. That is the reason I am pro Pitino, coupled with his resume.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Coaching Search Who Ya Want?
Pitino would get us on Sportscenter and with a couple of transfers have this bunch of players contending for the AAC title.........
