Election year or not, when the ICU is overrun and the morgue is overrun it is not a good thing. Does the yearly flu ever overrun the ICU and the morgue?
Where are you getting your figures that ICUs are overrun? Texas is at 74%, slightly above normal. The highest state in the U.S. is Rhode Island, which is at 83% capacity. The overwhelming number of states are at normal levels. https://www.covidexitstrategy.org/mustangxc wrote:Election year or not, when the ICU is overrun and the morgue is overrun it is not a good thing. And average seasonal flu deaths are 6,500 in Texas. We're at 3,192 COVID-19 deaths as of EOD yesterday. https://covidtracking.com/data/state/texas#historical
Yeah yeah we've seen this before..mustangxc wrote:https://www.texastribune.org/2020/07/10/texas-coronavirus-deaths-morgues-capacity/

I don't doubt that the national and state capacity still exists, but on a local (county) level their capacity may have been overrun. It is not unique to the USA. People in many countries throughout the world including Brazil, Italy, and Ecuador have not been cremated in a timely matter due to COVID-19. Thankfully, most of the world has not had this issue, but when a community gets hit hard its not easy to deal with. For me, the biggest issue with this virus is our lack of capacity. If we had more hospital ICUs, more ventilators, and more morgues I wouldn't be nearly as concerned. I simply wouldn't want to be one of those people that needs a hand and is told to wait in the event of an emergency or worse, death.Insane_Pony_Posse wrote:Yeah yeah we've seen this before..mustangxc wrote:https://www.texastribune.org/2020/07/10 ... -capacity/
Refrigerated truck need in Texas is bunch of BS....
Texas has over 29 Million people and has less than 3500 total COVID deaths
So you can spin it to your convenience?ponyboy wrote:Got any objective data?mustangxc wrote:https://www.texastribune.org/2020/07/10 ... -capacity/ponyboy wrote: Where are you getting your figures that ICUs are overrun?
