If you tolerate liars, and recruit stealers while on the SMU dime :!:

I am less concerned about him coaching than I am about him working for tcu the past couple of weeks getting our commits and hiring staff.

We do this exact same thing every time a coach leaves. When Lashlee takes the Arizona job in four years, he’ll be the next ΓÇ£worst guy ever.ΓÇ¥ It hurts, especially losing a HC to TCU. But it’s a business. I don’t blame Sonny one little bit. Neither should you.

Can confirm this, per sources.

Dykes will be holding interviews with current TCU coaches Sunday. Rhett Lashlee is the likely next HC at SMU and has had talks with coaches around the country about his potential staff.

Glad to hear he has time to work on his interview schedule tonight. At least we don't have a game to play in less than 24 hours.

If we lose tomorrow we will have lost 4 of 5 games in November. If that happens I wonder how welcoming Killer Frogs will be?

If I recall correctly, he has the second best winning percentage in SMU history. He got us a 10 win season, beat TCU twice, was a master of recruiting, and had us ranked for quite a few weeks over his time here. I’m thankful for all of that.

And I wish him well, personally. He’s a likable guy.

But as the coach of TCU, I wish him nothing but abject failure. This is because I hate TCU - not because I hate Sonny Dykes.

Patronize away. You’re ok with thanking the guy for recruiting for our chief rival while keeping our team in the dark about his turncoat plans. It’s one thing that you choose to have no self respect; please stop lecturing others of us that we shouldn’t, either.

Sonny can eat ****. Had me fooled like a lot of us. Leaving his team, fans, community in the dark so he can go coach at a dumpster fire in FW. I hope we beat them into oblivion over the next three years with the kids he brought in.

I don’t understand how anyone should not be pissed off at Dykes for his behavior. Telling recruits to decommit while employed at SMU should be enough to have wrath at the SOB, but to do that against your biggest football rival only the devil does that. There are certain unwritten rules in sports, and coaches at the biggest rivals don’t go to the other rival. You don’t see a HC at Ohio State to go Michigan or Vice versa, or NC / Duke, Texas / A&M, or in other sports a coach at Barcelona to Madrid, it just doesn’t happen because it is assumed this is never considered when you assume the face of the program. I was fooled by SD and wish him nothing but failure not just because it’s TCU but because of what he did. Actions speak louder than words and he’s basically told SMU to screw itself. Any self respecting alum, fan should find this unacceptable.

First, I am not a lawyer. As long as he is paid, I do not see how not letting him coach on the sidelines would violate anything. I will now step aside for actual learned legal thoughts.

It doesn't bother me at all but it's pretty rude to keep polluting various threads with your obsession with me, buddy.

It probably depends on the wording of his contract, but I would think he could be re-assigned other duties than coaching the team.

No - that occurred when they allowed the team to wear BLM logos on their jerseys in during the 2020 season. I haven’t watched, listened to or attended a minute of SMU football in two years - and won’t until Turner, Hart and Dykes have departed the Hilltop.
One down, two to go.

Maybe the team told him they didn't want him on the sidelines during their meeting after the news broke.
