This team lives and dies by the three but of late has been competitive because of how well they are playing team defense, which is what really helps teams survive and advance this time of year. Would love to see WSU and Tulsa play a triple OT game today
If we are hot shooting this weekend it will be a memorable one but yeah these tournament games usually do come down to free pitches.

I really hate our tournament starting so late in the week!!

It's part of the AAC television deal with ESPN. They need championship games to show on Sunday and most of the muscle conferences all want to finish on Saturday which leaves it to the AAC. The price you pay for being the 2nd tier conference with the big boy network.

As we all know there is zero margin for error.

Lunardi moved us back to first team out last night.

I guess VT win over ND had some bite to it for us. And TCU over UT. Upsets are not our friend.

Agree. Upsets are definitely not our friend.

I think we'll need to get to the AAC final to have a chance of getting in. VTech, aTm, and many others have high quality win opportunities in front of them today. Any of those win, and they probably move ahead of us, even if we win our quarterfinal game against Tulsa. A win against Tulsa would only be a Quad 3 win. Getting to and winning the AAC semis, particularly if it is against Memphis which would be a Quad 1 win, really helps us but doesn't move us into "Lock" status.

Indiana has now defeated Michigan and Illini, all but solidifying them a last four in spot.

We gotta pray Wake Forest and Xavier losses pulled them out, and win at least two games to have a shot IMO.

Texas A&M about to take down Auburn. These Major conferences are way overrated. Alas, these results will force us to win the conference tournament to get in.

La Tech beats UNT. Better hope CUSA is a one bid league

That does hurt, although Lunardi said UNT will not make it now.

I was thinking if UNT lost to UAB in the final they might get an at-large but they really don't have any good non-conference wins. Drake was the best team they beat and our wins against Dayton and Vanderbilt were probably just as meaningful. I just hope the committee can see our guys struggled early as the team was building chemistry with so many new faces but really improved as the season wore on. Bottom line is that our guys have an opportunity to punch their own ticket or at least make a statement by reaching the AAC tourney finals.
