I was a Cheerleader at that game and Roderick was a frat bro. What a game! What a win. IIRC, it was the first time they flashed the Cotton Bowl scoreboard lights at the end of a game...

I was there as an 11 year old with my older brother and my parents. The parents sat downstairs in their regular seats, and we sat about 1/2 way up in the upper deck around the 20 yard line.

One of my biggest memories of the night, was the crazy loud cannon Navy would shoot off every time they scored. I remember the euphoria of the win, after Navy was knocking on the door with seconds left.

I did not remember that Staubach was shuttled in at QB as more a runner, with another throwing QB for the passing plays. I had forgotten how fast John Roderick was, and how great to hear Mac White's name again.

What a victory.

I remember SMU had a crazy loud cannon too back then. Painted red I think. First time that I heard a cannon go off at that 1963 Arkansas game. Might've peed my pants.
May the forth be with us.

"Go to the game with Humble, or let Humble take you to the game." Used to be their game day slogan.
