I read ponyfans back in Tate's day, but barely remember the name, if at all. In general I agree with the good wishes expressed about most players who did not / do not make it at SMU and move on. I certainly know nothing about his subsequent life and career, including his actions as a Baylor coach.

It may be I will learn more about what the Baylor three did and that a self imposed one game suspension is the appropriate punishment. Maybe the NCAA will take some action and maybe not. Perhaps I will see that my final remark below is ignorant and inappropriate.

When I read this thread I thought immediately of Ulric Maligi and reflected again for the rules applied to P5 schools as opposed to SMU.

One of the posters from 2004 said that Tate Wallis was the worst post-DP QB in SMU history. Is that still true after the 2014 performance?
