Tyreek Smith called for his first foul, and Temple's Tahj Thweatt hits 1 of 2 FTs to end 15-0 SMU run

Just like that, with a steal and layup, the Owls cut the margin to 17-11

SMU is now shooting 7/22 from the floor (a 1/12 stretch will do that to a team)
Temple is shooting 7/23
23-15

We got out to such a large lead right out of the gate that it appears our guys relaxed a bit and Temple turned up their intensity and cut into the lead. Game settling in now

Spot-on, CP — SMU rebounding margin (once 10-2) has shrunk to two, 18-16

It almost seems like Owls are playing under a "perimeter offense only" edict. Hofman has not touched the ball in at least 5 possessions, despite being WIDE-open several times. Teammates have looked right at him alone in the paint and passed elsewhere.
26-22

Worth watching:
Temple has 8 team fouls ... just 3 on SMU with 3:42 to go in the half
