Clemson knocks off #2 seed Arizona to advance to the Elite 8. Need UNC to beat Bama tonight to guarantee at least one ACC team in the Final Four

Selection committee doing its thing again, completely undervalued the ACC and BigEast and overvalued the SEC and B12. The NET rankings can be manipulated early on in the season and then it creates an insidious situation of overranked teams in the same conference. They believe they’re all beating up on each other as elite teams but really they’re mostly all overrated. Even Kansas was severely down this year.

Higher seeds won 3 of the 4 games last night. The selection committee has a really difficult job because the top 25 is full of good teams that can beat each other on any given night

Don't know if I've ever seen as physical a game as the 1st half of Duke vs Houston has been. Talk about "letting them play". Guys are beating each other up out there

The Duke Basketball Report has declared Dallas an ACC town even pre-SMU admission, with a pic of the SMU Dallas jerseys to boot:

Elite 8 will be 3 ACC, 2 B1G, 2 SEC and 1 Big East. What? No team(s) from the "best" basketball conference in the country this year that got 8 teams invited to dance with #1 & #2 seedings? In their defense, that former AAC team from Houston may well have advanced if their PG and team leader hadn't gone down in the 1st half

No teams from either the Big XII or the future Big XII in Elite Eight. Also, the vaunted MWC didn't even get to the elite 8 either. Meanwhile the ACC has three of five in there. Of course they could all lose in the next round. Big East has 1 of 3. SEC and Big Ten have their two.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Duke plays State in Dallas tomorrow so, no, the ACC cannot miss out on the Final Four.

That NC State team is easy to pull for. Loaded with graduate players. Will be an interesting battle of the bigs against Purdue. Duke just couldn't buy a bucket for most of that game. Reminded me of some of our outings this year.

So 4 of the top 6 conferences are represented in the Final Four. I like that it worked out that no one conference has dominated

This year's tournament has given us a real picture of what ACC baskeball is all about. I don't know how well we will compete next year but every game is going to be MBB at the highest level and we need our fans to pack Moody every conference game and learn to turn up the energy. The team will need all of the positive energy we can provide.
