TCU hates us. But whenever we beat them, on their forums they are quick to point out that we played well (from what I have seen anyway).
I scoured the FSU YouTube fan videos on Sunday just to see what they were saying, and not one had anything good to say about the SMU football team. They said things like, "we just got beat by a high school team". So yeah, I hope they go 1-11, even though it would help us if they started winning.
I now understand why everyone in the ACC hates them.

They still have Clemson, ND, U, Duke and UNC on their schedule. I could see them finishing the season with 1 conference win. Do you think the league will just let them leave if they finish 1-7 (does ND count?) in conference? I'm sure the Big XII would want them.

Have you seen their post today - The 12 truths before the Clemson game.
To me, I think they are trying to tell themselves they are good.
Rally the troops so to speak.

I believe FSU also claimed in their original legal filing that SMU, specifically, would damage their strength of schedule when it came to CFP rankings. The game was sweet on so many different levels.

I think some of their fans are delusional and think they’d be candidates for the B10.
I do think the little 12 would take them though.

If they finish 1-7 they should be relegated to the Big 12 and have to win to get back in to the ACC.

Locked On ACC had some good thoughts on the SMU vs FSU game, plus some other interesting notes about CFP bids at the end of the season.

I hope Clemson beats them by 50.
FSU fans are often delusional, and that delusion leads them to reveal that they are absurd. Some of my favorite FSU fan rants have been about how the ACC is proven to be harming FSU on purpose because teeny tiny Wake kept beating FSU.

W hen the ACC swept into Tallahassee one weekend and left with FSU ready to sign on, the ACCC told FSU that ACC membership would lead t5p 3 things, all of which FSU wanted: 1) FSU finally would win a National Championship in football; 2) FSU's athletics department would begin to oigffer more sports than ever before and become nationally ranked in many sports; 3) FSU's academic rankings would start to rise and keep rising.
All 3 came true, and it is the #3 that drives the current assumption by so many FSU fans that they are wanted something awful by the BT. FSU administrators came tom love the school they run continually gettin better rankings and acquiring a better reputation. For those who d not know, when FSU joined the ACC, FSU was thought of as just a near-open admission (for FL residents) 24 hour party school. Those administrators may go along with suing to leave the ACC to get much more money, but they also now look down own the SEC in every other way. Hence, the BT talk. They want to be able to give the middle finger to UNC, UVA, Dook, etc and boast about being so valuable that the BT took them before they could get into the AAU.

AAU memebers
BIG 10 15 out of 16
ACC has 9
BIG 12 has 5
SEC has 4
I do not believe FSU is a logical fit to the Big 10. Suspect FSU wants the SEC. University of Florida does not want them, so one no vote. the Big 12 is a demotion. FSU antics show there are a disruptive conference member. I just do not see why the SEC would want FSU. For that matter maybe the ACC would not mine if they left. Negotiate the exit penalty and good riddance.

I read somewhere that FSU is not in a very good financial position because of coaches salaries, stadium upgrades, etc. Now they have a crappy on-field product that no one wants to watch, and they are talking about firing Norvell which would be require a massive Jimbo-esque buyout. They have even kicked around the idea of bringing on private equity in a deal that would give the firm commercial rights to the brand! So it doesn't sound like they have the money to pay for a buyout AND do everything else they would want to do. They are going to have to make decisions about what they want to spend money on, or sell their soul to PE.
