Also, if you have time.
Take the Trinity Railroad Express (TRE) train to Fort Worth and visit the stock yards. This will take the better part of a whole day.

Not sure I would recommend going to a high school football game - BUS, you diehard! JavierΓÇÖs is a unique, high end Mexican food experience with a dynamic cigar bar. SMU flavor - grab a burger, fries, and shake at Burger House near campus. CampisiΓÇÖs is a throw back pizza and beer experience, you might run into Eric Dickerson there. Lower Greenville is loaded with fun. Enjoy!

ItΓÇÖs a shame they cannot get out to The Mustangs in Las Colinas. The old part of CampisiΓÇÖs is a must as is the Bush Library, the Boulevard, and Meadows Museum, all within walking distance.

Don't forget the free game day shuttle from DART Mockingbird Station to near SMU Moody Coliseum. Haven't been to a game in a few years, but they used to be provided by Wynne with Wynne on the sides of the buses. Not the DART buses.

A trip to Dallas for an SMU game should include at least some of these:
The boulevard on gameday
Snuffers cheeseburger and cheddar fries
Campisi's pizza
Bush Library
Live music on Lower Greenville Ave or Deep Ellum

Honestly, I wouldn’t. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze, and the Stockyards, well … they smell like TCU.

To Do:
- Meadows art museum on SMU Campus is fantastic
- Dallas Art Museum (free)
can ride DART to downtown
- Deep Ellum, the Traveling
Man, is fun free public art
- Dallas downtown library has
an original printing of the Declaration of Independence and a first printing of Shakespeare Folio from 1623 on permanent display.
- Old City Park is a collection of 19th century homes, some restored. The park is free to visit and you can enter 5 of the homes and some of the old street main businesses. it's not well kept but is very interesting if you like architecture.
- A drive or bike ride through Highland Park has some very interesting and beautiful homes surrounded by manicured lawns and many small parks. It is in the top 10 for richest cities in the US.
FOOD:
1) Campisis has very interesting history, vintage interior and solid italian food. (walking distance from campus)
2) Celebration is always good downhome American food in a relaxing old house environment and nice patio. (not far from campus)
3) Normas [the oak cliff location only] is a blast from the past - greasy spoon diner with old retro interior and 50s building (not updated) with huge portions. The Texas Movie Theater is right down the street [where they found and arrested Oswald]. As a note: the area is rougher than those north of the river and I've had a few friends say they didn't feel completely safe. I enjoy the restaurant and area.
4) Bubba's (cooks country) has good fried chicken and yeast rolls. (next to campus)
5) Kubys is an old German restaurant next to campus with solid food. (next to campus)
6) Burger House (next to campus) has an "old fashioned" 1/4 pound burger and fries that won't knock your socks off but is solid.

I definitely recommend the Meadows Fine Arts Museum. One of my grad class met there, and we had the opportunity to visit the permanent exhibit every day. It was amazing.
The George Bush Library has the Founding Documents exhibit there now, so that would be an excellent opportunity to see some of the original founding documents.

Any guesses as to what time the Pitt game will be? Do these schedulers follow any kind of pattern?

If both teams win this weekend, there's a very good chance of it being an ABC/ESPN/ESPN2 game, but hard to predict what time. I think it'll be announced this coming Monday.

Welcome back to big time football. They need to arrive by Friday, stay through Sunday, and leave all other plans for Saturday tentative.
