9 spots after ONE blowout against a terrible team??? That's ridiculous, unless it is a weekly change.

Got a big but winnable quad 1 game coming on Tuesday. Should have a packed Moody for it.

Remember the NET ranking is affected by our opponents results AND our opponents' opponents results so you always have to pull for everyone we have played to do well

Looking at the conference standings our wins so far have been against the 4 worst teams in the ACC. So, we need to strap on our big boy pants tonight to show that we're legit.

It's NIT or bust for this team. The "rest of the season" starts Saturday at NCSU to see how we match up against the rest of the mid-level ACC teams, which is clearly what we are

Looking back at SMU's basketball history today I see this is the 108th year of hoops at SMU. In that time frame, we've had only 15 seasons of 20 wins or more. To be fair, we rarely played 20 games in a season until the late 40's under the legendary Doc Hayes who had three 20 win seasons. Dave Bliss had 3, Larry Brown and Jankovich had 2 each and "shared" a 3rd, Doherty, Shumate, Dement and Lanier had one each.

At 14-5 with 12 more regular season games to play (6 of those in Moody), I'd like to think Enfield's 1st season at SMU will end with at least 20 wins and an opportunity to play in the NIT. Anything less would be a huge disappointment at this point.

Yes - we are mid. But you forget that Mid-ACC teams actually do make the NCAA Tournament almost every year. We need to be at the top of the heap of Mids.

Wins over Stanford, Wake, Pitt would position us quite well in the ACC - and all of those are at home (also have Clem at home). That would likely mean we could finish top 4 and get a double bye and a shot in ACC tourney vs Duke or Lou in our second game (assuming - and big assumption - that we win first).

I find it hard to believe that a 4th place ACC team would not get into the NCAA Tourney. Especially if we hold head to heads vs Stanford, Wake and Pitt (of course we play Stanford on road later).

Biggest problem is UNC. We need them to lose to duke twice and push them down in standings. TV will want to find a way for UNC to get in there. Would be interesting if we somehow drew UNC in first round of ACC Tournament, which could be essentially a play-in game.

I firmly believe we are an NIT team that may sneak into the NCAA tournament. The type of team that could go on a deep run in the NIT or luck into the NCAA tournament and get bounced in the first round. We are better than every non-NCAA tournament team in the country but not good enough to beat a single NCAA tournament team in the country if that makes any sense. I don't remember seeing such a consistent team. We don't have the ability to elevate our game but also seem to be very good about taking care of business. This team will win 22 games in the regular season and then depending on who we face in the ACC tournament may win another game or 2. 24 wins probably gets us in the NCAA tournament and 23 keeps us on the bubble depending on what other teams do.

At 18-5 with 8 more regular season games; 4 at home and 2 of those against teams currently ahead of us in the standings, this team is entering their "contenders or pretenders" stretch of this season. After the humiliating losses to Duke, Louisville and UNC I thought this team was toast but they have looked good since going to the 3 guard lineup. Have to defend Moody. Hope the place is packed and rowdy for this week's games against Pitt and Wake.

Currently sitting at # 40 NET and have only 1 Quad 2 loss but no Quad 3 or Quad 4 losses. Baylor, Clemson and UConn are all ranked higher but all have Quad 3 losses so we just need to avoid any "bad losses" to the weaker teams on our schedule and REALLY have to defend Moody
