Why does it make sense for Phil to slam the university and the current administration? Of course we struggled and made bad decisions/created poor policies. Living in the past doesn't serve us or our recruiting efforts.

This effort got us Phil and the jury is still out. But, I like his style and will wait for progress to be revealed this year and the strong results will be harvested in 2005. Thinking otherwise is a waste of the good (?) will that Phil is creating. Go Mustangs!

I'll believe that we are getting better players when it starts translating into winning seasons. As of yet, any of the "better" players that Bennett has recruited has yet to help us win a football game.

I caught the end of the show. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't that a registered PonyFan operating the camera and waving at the TV audience on the way to a commercial break?

Who? Which PonyFan?
I saw the wave, but I have no idea who it was.

Was there any mention of the position battles that await in 2-a-days?

That's true, but expected since they are Fresh/Sophs at this point.

Looking back, we should have won 2-4 games last season, but didn't. That big 0-12 hurt us in recruiting, BUT not as bad as it should have.

We needs some W's this season to show promise and progress, for the fans and for the recruiting efforts. The seeds were planted 2+ years ago when Bennett got here for recruiting, in order to harvest this years crop we will need some sunlight, otherwise, we will be in trouble.

How many more years of losing are the Mustang faithful going to have to endure? I am hopeful that under Bennett's plan, the 2005 season is the one that we can expect to win more than we lose.

I think that's the general concensus - we'll take our lumps for one more year while the young guys grow/mature/learn, then break out in 2005. We'll lose several games again this year, but I think the improvement will be evident. We'll make mistakes, thanks to youth/inexperience, but we'll make them faster and harder, as the overall speed and athleticism of the team is significantly improved. Hang in there for one more year -- go to every game! -- and in 2005, we'll all enjoy the rewards for our patience.

I wish I'd been able to see the show. I'm going through serious football withdrawal. Can't wait for the season! Got the car tuned up and ready for multiple trips to Ford Stadium.
