Don't know if this has been brought up or not but.....

At the end of last year, Texas was considered one of the top teams to become 2010 National Champs.

Colt McCoy could have easily pulled a 'Sanchez' and turned pro.

Are you telling me that Garrett Gilbert was their backup plan???

In other words, Mack Brown pulled an SMU.....true Freshman at QB as Plan B....hmmmm

UT, we as SMU fans over the past 20 years can tell you first hand....you are getting what you deserve.

Why does UT's drum major costume look like the costume for our "Mustang riders?"

Thanks for the clarification. I remember how devastating it was for us when we loss or starting QB. Glad we had a back up.

One of McCoy's original backups declared for the NFL draft today. (Snead-Ole Miss)

Had Colt McCoy turned pro, John Chiles would have been QB this year. When Colt McCoy came back, the decision was made to convert Chiles to WR.

I'm thinking Jackie Chiles would be better than this

One thing I will say: I am really glad that Kyle Padron is our QB. Look at how he did as a true freshman when he came in for Bo, and now look how Gilbert is doing. Granted, Houston isn't exactly the University of Alabama, but it's still a tough situation to step into.

Also see that UT had several blow-outs this year but really didn't play Gilbert that much, although it does appear that he was the 2nd string QB for the entire season.

Was Mack trying to inflate Colt's #s to help in his Heisman quest?

Think he would have liked to have given Gilbert more playing experience before tonight?

In the Houston game it was but after that he did well as you know. I am sure Gilbert will be fine next year when he practices as the starter.
