Is the CoC interested in BB because it looks like we'll need something similar before the administration decides to do something.

DePaul will get better under coach Purnell. Jury is out on this SMU team. Appears we are going to be up and down this season. Can only hope they come together and reach their potential at season's end (in time for tourney)

Purnell has them showing some signs of life but DePaul has a basketball heritage that SMU envies and hasn't been so bad for as long as SMU has.

FWIW, for the life of me I cannot figure out why Purnell left Clemson for DePaul

That was absolutely brutal. And I missed the Mavs/Celtics for that garbage.

Hate to beat a dead horse but I just get the feeling Doh is here only to collect his paycheck. I don't know if he has the passion and desire to really turn this program around. We need a coach with fire and a desire to do something great here. I don't see that with him. Perhaps I'm wrong.

Just like Moody we need a coaching renovation to start at the end of the season to prepare us for a future in the Big East.

I guess this puts a stop to the run of good things that have happened over the past few days. We need to start over.

I think a bit of both, but I put most of the blame on the coach. After all, he is involved with the coaching and the class he brings in. I see talent, but as a coach, you have to put that talent in positions where they can be successful.

You could substitute June Jones for Doh and this statement applies to football as well.....

What we need is a strong Xs & Os coach first & foremost. We currently have a head guy that was castrated by the AD, b/c the system he knows was losing a record number of games at SMU. Since the new staff was hired, Doh has been relieved of even coaching defense, cause he can't do it for this system. Let's be real. He can't X & O, and he's a very average practice coach. I don't think anyone was wrong for thinking he might recruit so well, that it covers up his deficiencies, but then he couldn't manage a roster.
