Pitt is incredibly overrated. They are 1-4 vs. top 50 RPI (0-4 vs. top 25)

And somebody keeps hoping for an 11th or 12th seed. Forget that, we need to be a 7th or 8th seed.

Love that idea. They do the ACC/Big 10 challenge and the Big 12/SEC challenge. Adding the AAC/Big East challenge next year would be great.

AAC/PAC 12 challenge would be even better.

Being from the West Coast this is what I want to see. Zona, Oregon, and Stanford are all quality teams. Even Cal and UCLA can pull off some surprises this year

Lunardi's latest bracket has us a 8 seed playing GW, then Cuse in Buffalo

Hopefully, we can moving up and avoid Buffalo as Cuse will be locked in there.

UCONN and Memphis as 6 seeds. A sweep over either of these would vault SMU up considerably. In fact, it is likely that we will have a third game against one of these two in AAC tourney.

The seeding confuses me.
If we are still a top 25 (and of course, that is still a big 'if' at this point) then how are we anything less than a 5 seed?

5 seed would be nice but if we don't get that I'll stick with a 12 or 13. 8/9 is a tough slot. If you win you get a 1 as your "reward." I'd rather have to upset a 5 and then a 4 than face a one in round two.

I think this is a good question. Looking at the brackets I've seen gives some clues. One of the latest ESPN brackets has teams like UCLA, North Carolina, UMASS, New Mexico, Gonzaga etc in the 6-9 seed range. I think we get docked a little for our strength of schedule (especially out of conference) and I think teams like those benefit from their pedigree, even though I'd take us over a lot of those teams right now.

So you want us to lose so we will go down to a 12th or 13th seed and possibly have a play in game? No way. Give us the best seed possible and whatever comes with it. We need to keep winning and keep moving up in seeding.
