as Tom Penders can tell you, they don't want to violate federal law by publically releasing information concerning his academic transcript other than is he eligible or not
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

Not talking about releasing the grades to the general public. But when they internally declare the eligibility status of MK, I assume that they would be assessing the other student athletes at the same time. This is a process that happens at the end of each semester in compliance at the SMU athletic department. I have suspicions that MK is not the only one we need to be worried about here and things could go from bad to worse in a hurry.
Stalling on the fall grades for everyone may be in the team's best interest for the Michigan game.

So what's taking so long? That's all I'm saying. Declare him one way or another. Tick tock. We have a game to play. Let's cut the [deleted] and the charades and hurry the eff up.
I'm no troll just being realistic. MK is ineligible for the spring semester. So what if any is his incentive to stay past this year. He can struggle again in the spring and summer in the hope of becoming eligible next season or declare for the draft.
If he is ineligible then he won't stay. I am surprised though that if he is indeed not eligible that everything is so quiet. If I were him I'd jump on twitter and explode.
Also if this is true, this will really hurt SMU at being transferU

If this is true, [deleted] SMU! This is the ONE chance this school can show it's 1500 that it will work with "at risk" athletes and completely commit to its revenue sports programs.
It's absolutely absurd, IF THIS IS TRUE, that 0.25% GPA and a paper or 2 is making this kid ineligible. Just really, really stupid. I live in the real world not an ivory tower. This is not how the real world / business works. I wouldn't blame LB or any of these kids to WALK after this. Just pisses me off.
