I agree completely. And I admit, I have not discussed my experiences on the Hilltop on this message board. I save those for pay sites, but as a family, our discussions are not limited to what is said on anonymous message boards. It also includes personal experiences from both the recent and distant past.
Fair point. I'm only basing my comments based on what I've seen on here. But again, you will find racism everywhere. I don't see the logic in nixing schools based only on what makes the news. But to each their own.

What caused the death according to your conservative sources? I guess the corners report was wrong. What about the South Carolina shooting? I would agree that the large majority of police are good but would you agree that there are some that are not?

Wow. Such insight contained in this post. I swear some of you force me to argue positions on this board that I don't always agree with. People should be able to express their opinions or struggles without being called things like "thug anarchists." I said this in another post, but more than anything that has happened at SMU recently, it's idiotic statements made on boards like this that really show things have not changed on campus and in the SMU community and is a major part in why both of my children have decided not to apply to SMU. Good job guys!
I was wondering why he called them thugs as well. Then I saw in ab urban dictionary where it was a kind of a soft way of calling someone the N word.

I agree there are bad cops out there, but the BLM group in its majority are a bunch of rotten apples. Their methods are parallel with New Black Panther. Also seeing the SMU student demands, one of them was like keeping black drop outs... are you kidding me?!

I have only used thug to refer to those who qualify under the "wearing baggy pants, droop to the floor and overall look hostile." It has nothing to do with race. If one wanted argue socio-economic standing then so be it, however I do not think its the equivalent to the N-word. Its unfortunate that there are alot of black people who fall under this category rather than bettering themselves. Someone like Ben Carson is an inspiration and not shocking that a hard working person would be a republican and the complete opposite of a thug.

Didn't say keep but provide better support for students not keeping them when they fail but more preventive as some don't come from high schools that are very good. Also, dropping out mau not have anything to do with grades, just saying. That came from a Hispanic guy and it was not part of the list. Also, RGT said that they were suggestions but the media said they were demands possibly to try to evoke this tpye of reaction. RGT has the documents and did not use the term demands. So they may not have been presented that way but the media may have just jumped to that conclusion.
Here is the comment and it was not on the list.
Campus leaders also need to work to keep black and other minority students at SMU because many drop out, said Jose Manuel Santoyo, a student senator.

Channel 8 does positive piece on SMU student march today describing and showing a diverse collection of people from the SMU community uniting to seek positive change at SMU and a community and leadership willing to listen and improve the university. Nobody died. Nobody was shouting or yelling past each other. It appears the march served to open dialogue and understanding in the SMU community. Good Day to be a Mustang

I am kind of interested in which schools your kids found to apply to or attend where this does not exist? I may want to direct my kids there.
