Look Keith is a Kid. I don't like what happened and don't like him leaving but we don't walk in his shoes. Let's cut him some slack and let any bad feelings go. Keith was a big part of our recent success and a big part of some of our troubles. He is part of the SMU family and deserves our support. FOE.

The Trail of Destruction left by this kid and his handlers over the last 8 years would make a great movie. Its not going to end well

Look, if this is about getting a paycheck to support your family then I will agree with you. If this is about playing time and fighting for a spot then I have lost my respect for him. How soft have we become as a society when quitting on your team when things get competitive is justified. Family is about sticking together not jumping when your role is reduced.

The average light fan at SMU has no clue. People lost their jobs in the Dallas school district * lawsuits insude it was a major cluster ..

Becoming an informant with immunity and bolting was the unforgivable sin.

It isn't going to end well is correct.

At this point, all I ask is for the drama to end and for the program to stabilize. SMU hoops has been more exciting during the past 4 years than ever before in my memory. . .but its also been exhausting. The question now is whether the program can move past the constant drama and become a stable, successful program long-term, ala Gonzaga, Duke, etc., or do we become a giant shit-show, ala Fresno State 1997.

I feel like our diminished core is made up of high quality, high character kids who will represent the team and school well. I hope that feeling is right. . .and I hope those are the type of kids we recruit going forward. If KF is an example of what a typical McD All-American is like, then I'd just as soon skip 'em. Too much drama, and too much shadiness.

Well I guess we will find out if the ship is going to stabilize or if we are just going to keep having this stuff happen. KF is far from the only controversy in this programs recent history.

The DP was before my time, but it kind of makes me wonder if in some respects this was the type of environment the football program existed in from 1980-1987? Different issues I know, but the constant drama. . .constant controversy.

Looks like a picture of a rat. As in, never rat on your friends and always keep your mouth shut. Even, I believe the original author inferred, when given immunity.

Could it be that he talked to the NCAA and contributed to the suspension of LB, scholarship reductions and our post season tourney ban...

And I agree with Hoop we have spent too much time talking about the guy (I know I'm contributing). Calling him a kid and saying we should all pull for him is well, soft.

He walked in the middle of the season. I would have much more respect if he would have left after last season or at the end of this season. He walked out on his teammates, coaches and SMU all who have been supportive of him throughout this mess. Leaving his team even more short handed then it was with him. He's not part of the family and doesn't want to be. Don't let the door hit you on the way out pal. Good riddance and farewell. I will not miss you or your towel.

Given some of the comments in this thread and about Keith generally on this board can you really say SMU supported him?

Yes 100% right up to the point where he walked out the door.

The question of whether SMU supported him is largely disconnected from this thread and board. PF is not in any way a measure of the university's support.
