And the bad pass/play call by Hicks for the pick 6

Is Hicks the SMU leader for passes thrown for Pick 6’s?

just a thorough butt kicking at this point; let's see if our guys will even compete in the 2nd half or whether we are watching another Frisco Bowl. Looks like at least an 0-4 start to this season.

Looks like there won’t be a Ford reseat for the 2019 season

perhaps one of the best posts tonight....

On a positive note, the Horns lost...

The NTSU coach is who SMU should have hired. I don't know why everyone scoffs at what he has done up in Denton as if he is beneath SMU.

But nope. Gotta go for the guy who is less likely to' leave SMU for a way higher paying job in the SEC!!!

Does this mean SD won’t be heading to TTech?

I would throw in a missed holding call in the end zone that could have given SMU 2 points. Three plays might have changed momentum and made this a competitive game but right now they are simply kicking our tails and all this talk about how much more physical this team might be just looks to me like a cruel joke.

Sonny Dykes is extremely unlikely to leave us for the SEC

Any coach who can win at SMU won't be here long

Chad left because we are playing Chad recruits.

I think Chad knew this team was likely to regress with this year's schedule and that it would be tough to find even 6 wins

Chad left because Arkansas is a way better job on all fronts. His salary doubled, his staff salary went way up, the facilities are far better, the AD supports athletics far better, it's an SEC job, and the cost of living up there is far less so his fat salary buys him much more for his family.

You guys really need to give up this crap about him running away because he was scared. Every single one of you would have made the move he did. Every one. Same for every coach in the country. If an SEC school called up Sonny tomorrow for an HC gig he'd leave and never look back.

Totally agree. And I can handle losing more than I can handle whining. I have been a big Hicks fan, and I preached patience. However, I am hesitantly questioning when we look at what else we have.

And that's a problem. SMU aimed low for a guy who is less likely to leave instead of aiming hgh for an up and comer who has proven he can do well with a team that has few resources. Top brass was butthurt Chad left after 3 years even though every single HC in the nation would have done the same thing with the offer he got so they "played it safe" with a retread.
