I'm worried we'll attract a bunch of guys with lots of stars and no heart.Charleston Pony wrote:I contribute as well but beginning to think our talent level is nowhere near what the hype has been. All of these P5 transfers are probably here because they couldn't cut it at the P5 level. Hopefully we will have enough talent to compete in the watered down AAC but this program has no business thinking it is worthy of joining any P5 conference.Pony81 wrote:I contribute generously to pony sports DTXΓǪ..sorry this is the most talented roster we’ve had in yearsΓǪ.so incredibly inconsistent is the frustrationΓǪblown out by Tulane with everything on the lineΓǪ.that’s not talent it’s coachingΓǪfocusΓǪpreparationΓǪ.

Coach keeps giving Tulane short fields and of course our specials teams play has contributed as wellSoCal_Pony wrote:ESPN says 14 passesDallasMustang11 wrote:This has to be a program changing loss. Some coaches have to go or roster changes need to be made. Saying this is embarrassing is an understatement. They have thrown 15 passes and have scored nearly 50 pts!!!
And SMU has more total yards

We fired the great Hayden Frye after a 7-4 season. Back then the administration wouldn’t accept mediocrity.

Does this season check the box of "compete for championship"?

There's something to be said about investing in proven top caliber coaches and it was great having Larry Brown for a few years, but just look to College Station to understand there are no guarantees. Just like with investing, past performance is no guarantee of future success. I will get over what seems like our 100th humiliating defeat in the 50 plus years I've been following the program but I think I need to check out for a while after this one.

If Jennings doesn't get to finish this game, I'm done.
Re: Tulane Game Thread
I'll be shocked if that happens. Can't upset Tanner.Charleston Pony wrote:If Jennings doesn't get to finish this game, I'm done.

SMU really is a soft, privileged, rich kids, spoiled, soft, spoiled, pampered kids school, and All there, buy into that [deleted].

I was hoping this team would avoid our usual November collapse, but looking ahead to Memphis before a crowd of 6000, it doesn’t look good.

I'm done. Don't need to watch Mordecai pad his stats in a humiliating blowout loss

But he should be sitting at this point.
