Yeah, but it's 3 scores with at least one 2-point conversion. Isn't it early enough that a coach doesn't want to chase points later? I'm no coach, but I still think going for the field goal would have been wise. Makes it a smaller margin, and going for the TD ran the risk of getting shut out ... which happened.

I'll defer to you here. I'm not adamant about my stance.

It is just a bowl. Definitely go for it there on fourth to try to pump the fans and team up.

Lol game started 3 am for me. I couldn't wake up with alarm and decided screw it gonna skip the game. But about 45 mins later I just randomly woke up and tuned in. 15 seconds in and Hunt sacked for the fumble. And now this, damn I made the right call!

I'm thinking DeRuyter's mindset was that he didn't want to walk away from a prime scoring opportunity with just a FG that would have still left them down 3 scores. He's probably pretty confident in his offense given their performance this season. I liked the call given the way the half had gone for Fresno State.
