I agree with malonish, we are covered for next year. We are not bare.Whoever the coach is we should return a solid team. Thanks malonish for the support.

I really hope its not Mumme. He has been an awful D1 coach at bigger universities with more resources.

He was a HC at one bigger D1 school w more resources. NMSU does not have more resources than SMU

he's had some really bad jobs. Actually took Kentucky to 2 bowls in 4 years .50% He was run out of town also because of NCAA violations-bad final year too

Mumme's final record at Kentucky was 20-26, after a 20-18 start and an 18-17 record in his first three years, compared to Kentucky's 9-24 mark in the three years before his arrival

Actually, had some good moments including victories over Top 25 teams like Alabama, LSU and Arkansas and finished the regular season ranked one year at No. 25.

I don't want him to get the SMU job but he wasn't a complete failure at Kentucky. The NCAA probation is the mark on his record that pushed him out of coaching at the Division 1A level

I have a close friend that went to McMurry University (Div II - independent in football), and Mumme left the McMurry athletic department in debt (something about helmets). No love for Mumme there.
