Cracking up thinking if Harry showed up in such crappy shape at Arizona he wouldn't be averaging 10 minutes per practice.

Exactly. He'd be toting Markkanen's spare jockstrap to practice.

The sad reality is that our recruits were LB loyal and not SMU loyal. Sadly, Tim didn't seem to fit the shoes for them. Like others, I see others possibly dropping if they can find other stable schools. I'm not sure what the action is here other than maybe Jank needs to put more focus on recruiting now versus hoping to get in the tourney or NIT. Not saying HF was great if anything extremely clumsy but he had height... hopefully we get some good news...

Others dropping like who? The only two guys I could see leaving unless we pushed them out are Semi and Tom Wilson.

Isn't that basically everyone minus the seniors who are gone after this year. Maybe I'm over dramatizing it but sure seems like not a pretty picture for SMU b-ball. Glad we throttle TCU because this might be the last year unless Jank gets out there and get us some talent to fill.

Do we have a shot at getting trae young? If so that will definitely help and at least our 2017 class looks good at the moment, so at least a plus there.

Well we will return Shake, Jarrey, McDowell, Gu & Jimmy Whitt. I think Semi will be back, personally. He could leave, but idk if he wants to start over somewhere new again. Who knows right now. Wilson wouldn't be a big loss as of right now, but we will see how he finishes out the year. So no I think we have plenty coming back. We have 4 commits and will almost assuredly add another or a transfer. I don't see the future much different than I did before the Froling news. I hoped he would be good, but hadnt shown he was going to be a key piece yet. If we did lose Semi that would be a really tough loss for next years team. I think people are overreacting a bit to losing Froling. I liked him, but he is very replaceable from what he showed this season.

Also the 2017 class has some talent. We now need to add another quality big & maybe another quick guard. @SMU_Alum I would say .000000001% chance at getting Trae Young.

Bummer, I saw 247 sports said that he was "warm" towards us so I thought there was hope given he could start sooner than most schools.

Never has there been this much hand ringing over a guy that is 6-11 and got plenty of time, but averaged 3 pts and 4 rebounds.

I'm not even sure Semi is allowed to be a Graduate Transfer-I think that would require an SMU waiver because he's already transferred once

Its probably time for a new roster and scholarship thread. I'm even more confused than usual.

Next season:

Shake
Gu
Whitt
Wilson
DeShawn
Semi
Landrum
Douglas
Ray
Chargois. Ten bodies, three bigs.

We get Harry's ride back.

I just think it's ill-advised to take shots at HF about his weight and performance given that he is still a FRESHMAN. He didn't fit in, and I think part of that falls on Jank. You need to be able to work with what you have. Now, an already shallow team gets even shallower.

I don't know what went on in practice, but he didn't get many minutes in games, and given our lack of depth, I thought he should've been played more. The team still has no identity, so the least Jank could've done was run some plays to utilize Harry's talent; he didn't.

He's a freshman. Come in ready to go. The offense won't be setup for you. Deal with it. There are guys in this team that have been waiting years to have plays run specifically for them. No need to pacify a snowflake. Work for for it and earn it.

Reading the quotes from the AP article it seems to me that short of him having a starring role and dominating he was going to transfer. He wanted to play for Larry Brown and it didn't happen so there is no reason for him to be at SMU. If Larry Brown gave him an average of 5 minutes a game he might be ok with that but 15 minutes of a complementary role from Jankovich is unacceptable to him. I think Jankovich failed in convincing him to trust the process etc. but I think it is more on Harry Froling than anyone else. If he wanted a bigger role and wants to be the focus of the offense etc. he should have shown up in the best shape of his life. Playing time is earned at every college team, not just SMU. To mock him for his weight is stupid, but to ignore that he needed to be in the best shape of his life from day one is naive at best. In hindsight I think this is a decision that both parties will regret.
