Nice to move up 4 while not playing!

A win tomorrow will solidify our RPI big time.

Odd to see that move when basically no one played yesterday. Lamar did win though.

2014-2015 SMU Daily Rankings

That is a good point. Lamar is currently the 4th highest weighted team in our RPI because besides playing us they also played so many teams we played, so they have an outsized impact on our RPI right now. By the end of the regular season they will only be the 16th highest weighted.

Also, could have been that some of the teams that were ranked just above us had former opponents that are weighted heavily lose yesterday.

By the way, for those that are interested, CBS Sports has a tool that tells you which teams playing that day can best help your team by winning.

Arkansas, Indiana and Michigan are all playing today and are all currently have a high weight in our RPI.

Me too. Since we play both of them twice it does not matter much for our end of season rpi who wins, but I think UConn has a better chance of finishing in the top 50 RPI so to the extent the committee looks at record vs arbitrary groups of RPI (vs top 25, top 50), etc it is probably better for UConn to beat Tulsa.

Plus, the worse UConn does the more I think the national narrative will be that the conference is down.

That said, they must be pretty fired up for this game in Tulsa. Tulsa is even favored.

Michigan got drilled by Ohio State, Indiana beat Penn St despite the loss of their only big guy in practice yesterday. He will be out up to a month, which isn't good news.

Most have the AAC getting four teams in right now. If we just keep wining the games we should and stay up in top couple, we'll be in great shape. Obviously just winning the AAC tourney would be better.

Ark. came from 15 down with 7 minutes to within 3 and got fouled on a 3 pt shot with 5 secs. Missed all 3 FTs.
