Everyone remember he's 25 years old, we all made a mistake or two (ahhh, I made a bunch!) when we were that age - I think he's got the message loud and clear. I am NOT saying what he did was right and not even for a second. But, I've seen him at numerous football and basketball games cheering hard. He's a Mustang. Just put him in timeout and let's move on.

Being young is one thing. Being an idiot and throwing your alma mater under the bus at a time when anyone and everyone is taking pot shots is classless and very revealing about Cole's true nature. If he doesn't want to step foot back on our campus then by all means stay away and STFU.

Like the kid said he played for June Jones and not SMU. SMU owes him nothing and he'd have made it to the NFL without SMU. He got his free education (that he clearly wasted by his twitter feed and just general idiocy) and now he's sitting on a perch throwing rocks down at us in our worst moment. What a classy dude.

He is 25 but I would think he would know better by now. Like the saying goes, "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"

Of course he wouldn't because he'd be using that SMU degree and its connections like several former players I know that loved and appreciated the opportunity to get their education and play football for SMU. He's sitting up on his NFL perch and taking cheapshots at the program. Hey Cole guess what? June quit on SMU twice. Metaphorically he quit after ASU and physically he quit after UNT. The man quit on this program. Kind of like how you quit the Cowboys in training camp. I'll give you a little credit at least you came back and realized they pay gimmick wideouts a lot more in the NFL than Little Elm H.S. pays for substitute health teachers.

Looking at Cole Beasley's twitter feed is all the proof you need that SMU has taken away any possible academic restrictions in the football program.

I think it is safe to say no one is happy with what Cole tweeted, myself included. It was dumb, stupid, ignorant, immature and any other synonym you want to use. But are we not doing the same with the trashing of Cole?
