A trip to Frisco is appropriate after the Navy debacle. That'll help recruiting for sure...

Frisco Bowl (Frisco) Dec. 20 American vs. MAC/MWC
Projection: SMU vs. Akron

SMU visits Memphis on Saturday with the Mustangs needing only two points to set the school’s single-season scoring record. I’m guessing that shouldn’t be a problem. SMU is averaging 39 points a game, with Memphis averaging 42 points per game. The contest will feature a pair of imposing wide receivers - SMU's Courtland Sutton and Memphis' Anthony Miller. Each boast 11 touchdown receptions, second nationally to West Virginia’s David Sills (18).

The "Navy Debacle"?
Really? A game we lost on the last play of the game on the Road on Veteran's Day when most of you predicted we'd lose by much more. The Debacle was in 2016. A tough, hard-fought loss after a gritty 2nd half comeback is a fair description. Hell half the usual quitters and whiners had left Ponyfans Game thread while SMU's team was still fighting.

And YOU GUYS know who you are-the same [deleted] every week. It was actually quite enjoyable as only the constructive, hard core fans remained not the bitchin' quitters.

We’re one of only a few fan-bases that has to listen to announcers openly question our game prep or our playcalling when we’re on the TV. Those of us that re-up for that deserve a little bit of credit for a resilience

I love this board. Finally make a bowl game, don't like the bowl options or opponents.

If we made a P5 conference, we wouldn't like the conference or teams.

If we made the playoff, we wouldn't like where we were seeded/opponent.

If we won the national championship, we wouldn't like the trophy, how it was presented, and the number of students that attended the game.

I don't get the hate about the Hawaii Bowl, other than some of you losers can't make it bc it's too far. :-)

Xmas eve, prime time and it's Hawaii! I think it's a great bowl to play in for our players.

Whatever it is, you gotta win it!

Play the best opponent possible (ie not a team from Sun Belt, CUSA or MAC) and its very possible that will be the MWC opponent in Hawaii bowl-- UNLESS AAC runner-up requests the Hawaii Bowl as a reward for a 11 and even 12 win season. Go for it if say Memphis or UCF loses the Championship.

They also called out attendance last home game which I thought was very unusual.

You must not watch many games, as they do that to virtually all teams. Unless your name is Alabama, announcers will find some area of every program lacking. If you look bad, it is their duty to say something.

Is it really that unusual? Tough to say you belong in P5 when attendance figures are bad for even G5.

The last drive was the a debacle. We have momentum. They're on their heels and Navy on their 3rd string QB chops our head off.

SMU had about 5 2nd stringer playing on defense for most of the 2nd half too. Scott, Lancaster, Delano Robinson, Shaine Hailey and McQueen were all we had left after numerous injuries. It was really quite predictable-tough loss but its not surprising in that situation with so many injuries

If it was quite predictable then there was nothing exciting about that game. In summary it was a blowout loss where we simply padded the score to lower the margin of victory. Got it.
