what if we said to them look, we have to make a move. We intend to join the Big East on Monday. And they say, wait Gerald, can you put the Big East off for a few days? Why would they say that? Because if we announce for the Big East, we are tainted and they can't take us no matter what because it would be obvious we weren't their current first choice. Serious talks ensue.

Serious talks, as in us adding on to Ford, adding sports, where they money is going to come from for our facility improvements and other crap like that. They want to know our plan if they choose to add us. I don't think it is as simple as "hey are you interested".

I thought that A&M made a mistake going to the SEC. They would be separated from Big12 (and UT) and would be bad in recruiting, etc. However, two teams from Texas makes lots more sense. A&M should be supporting such a move because it helps validate their decision and hurts UT. Pony Up!

It wouldn't surprise me if SMU to the SEC was not official by the end of the weekend.

We should offer to take 0 revenue share for the first 5 years if it helps get the deal done.

Guys serious talks do not mean we are in. I know most of you here recognize that. It's a courtship. Like dating. You meet a cute girl and you talk to her to gauge her interest. If she reciprocates you have more conversations. But if a hotter chick pops onto the scene before you make a commitment, you dump her for the hotter chick. If this report s true, we could still be dumped for a hotter school.

I will get excited if or when it happens, till then it is just talk.
Don't get me wrong this would be the greatest thing to happen to SMU since Doak Walker agreed to be a Mustang. I just can not see it happening, hope I'm wrong.
If SMU is invited to join the SEC and has to play a couple of games a year in the Cotton Bowl, they better figure out how to sell Fletchers corny dogs during the game!!!!
