Yes, and they would not be in for Basketball.
Their football coach said travel doesn't bother them. Said a 2 hour flight or a 4 hour flight doesn't matter. He said at the end of the day it will be about money.
Also, I read that the WAC would take their other sports back just to spit on MWC.

Why is Army reluctant? A conference with AFA and Navy is attractive. Add West Point and you are ensured at least one good home game. BE needs to lock-inWVA, Cincinnati and L'ville. Then a FL and TX have a pair, plus Boise brings sustainable value.

Army has the luxury of not needing the money and doesnt desire to compete at that level...I think they like the traveling circuit and the fact that they win on that circuit...

Just saying. They seem to be the least natural fit and it would be a huge travel burden. That's just me speculating. Maybe Chris Peterson likes to jet around all over the place, who knows...

I would suspect that all the academies would struggle in a BCS conference over the long run. And Army has been the least competitive of the three for a while now.

I like this quote:
"What make Temple, SMU and Houston attractive to the Big East, one source said, is their respective television markets. Philadelphia (Temple) is the nation’s No. 4 market, Dallas (SMU) is No. 5 and Houston is No. 10."

Wonder what the buyout is going to be? If we have options in 2 years....what's the cost to exit?

Too bad the teams mentioned do not actually carry any weight in those markets. But it does get a toe in the door and that's what matters.

Does this not put some pressure or at least reevaluation by B12 to add UH and SMU?
If BE locks them down by owning rights and the thought is everyone moves to 14/16 in couple years, do you act now?
With Mizz dangling in the wind and UT/OU back for the third time.....doesn't sem stable

That's good to know. At least we pull one market, albeit a small one.
