SMUer wrote:Yes! Taylor Reed: The only player on our sideline that appeared to be disgusted during the So. Miss game. Yes, he jawed with So. Miss players, refused to sub out for plays and suffered a one-game suspension for it (Tulsa)...but at least he has passion. He wants to win, hates to lose and refuses to do it laying down. June punished him for his insubordination but he's okay in my book. You need to load up your team with guys that hate hate hate to lose and teach them how to channel their aggression and energy positively. These guys become leaders.

And that's why RBA will honor him with a banner like this next season:

Not sure if it has been discussed, but it is rumored by the athletes that Reed was concussed when all that happened, semi-explaining why he didn't get off the field.

That's interesting, I had not heard that. I figured it was a "if nobody else will do this, I will" sort of thing. Extra-brutal to suspend him for an important game because he wasn't thinking squarely after being concussed in the last. I hope that is not true because we clearly needed him.

But back to Dieter...hooray for Dieter.

Glad to have him. I see him as a solid possession receiver prospect that could make a contribution if he works hard, studies the offense and accepts coaching,.

Not a bad comparison. He always seemed to be the bigger, possession-type WR our of the group with Bess and Grice-Mullen as the speed guys.

From the highlights he reminds me a bit of Jeff Samardzija(spelling?), and not just because he's white. Not a burner downfield, but runs sharp routes, has great hands and can catch in traffic.

Jeff Samardzija was pretty fast. He could run a 4.4 forty.

This just in on Twitter ( from Scout's twitter feed) and for sure now appears that Dieter will be enrolled at SMU and be involved in 2012 Spring drills:

RT @gehrigd4: Going to be enrolled at #SMU in about 10 days!
