Xmas eve, prime time and it's Hawaii! I think it's a great bowl to play in for our players.
Whatever it is, you gotta win it!
Is it that hard to understand? Some of us have followed this team without much reward for 30 plus years. In that span there were four bowl games - 2 were impossible for anyone with a family (Hawaii), one was great (Birmingham) and one was in our own damn stadium.
So yeah, I hate the idea of the Hawaii bowl and would prefer any others, because I selfishly want to actually attend our bowl game. Is that so bad?
By the way - if its Hawaii I am glad we are going there over nothing and I love Chad Morris - how's that?
Players pulling for Hawaii bowl and admin pulling for Frisco.
Will lose a bunch of money going to Hawaii and no I don't think the publicity outweighs the cost. The playoffs have relegated the rest of these bowls to a bigger trash heap then they were already in. Gives the gamblers something to do in December and costs the athletic departments of all these schools dearly.
That and all the stars will sit out to avoid injuring themselves pre-draft. Courtland would be crazy to play in an exhibition like this with millions of dollars on the line...
No we won't-the AAC pays for travel for all its teams from the top-therefore the AAC has an interest in sending cheapest team travel-wise to all its bowls which are not seeded. SMU/UH would be cheapest to send to Hawaii but also to Frisco etc
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

The AAC probably sets a number of people it will pay for and it is up to the school to decide who it covers. Beyond the players, coaches and support staff, there is a lot of discretion as to who goes for free vs. who the school pays for.
The Frisco Bowl will either end up with a MAC opponent or a 5-7 team. The Hawaii Bowl will be one of the better Mountain West schools.
IMO the Frisco has far more risk with little reward. A win against a MAC squad will garner no respect no matter how good the team is. While the MW isn't a P5 their bowl teams are likely going to be regarded more favorably than any 5-7 APR qualifier (best bets are Air Force, Duke, Vanderbilt, Maryland or Georgia Tech) or any non champ MAC team.
