It really was the nightmare situation coming in. Our play calling didn't make it any better for sure. But this night was kind of in the cards. Again, I do expect we'll be fine against Memphis. That game tonight took years off my life. Going to bed now.

I was there on the 35 the whole game. Fending off referees and card carrying bus riders of the UH masters program. It wasn’t pretty, but never had a doubt we wouldn’t win. 8-0. I didn’t have that many wins from 02-04. What a great time to be a Mustang.

Great win.

Yes, it wasn't pretty on a short week and with players we need not available, it was a great win. Houston came prepared, ready to play and we came out flat. Yet we still won. Road wins are not easy and especially road games against rivals.

We have a long week to prepare for Memphis which we need. Enjoynthis win as it has meaning and recruiting advantages.

Move on to Memphis after tonight.

We just needed to get out of there with a W. Style points don't matter!

LOVED the post-game locker room video of HCSD leading the team in singing the SMU Fight Song :!: :!:

I snuck peaks at my phone at work to get the scores until my battery rudely died. When I left I put on ESPNU radio with 3:58 on the clock. It was a tense commute home!

Houston was doubling up on Proche because they weren't worried about any other receivers we had once Roberson went out. Hopefully, Roberson was not seriously injured. Otherwise, Rice has to step up big time next week.

This might have just been the game we needed before playing Memphis. Not saying we lost focus but it certainly should help us realize we have to focus on the game being played and not look forward. I have faith we’ll be ready for Memphis. It’s so nice to have confidence in our coach and players.

I don't know what's up but very uncharacteristic of him. Seems like we desperately need Reggie so hopefully it's not as bad as it seems.

If we play like this in Memphis with most likely a college gameday showing, we are going to get humiliated. Red zone offense needs a real kick in the [deleted] as we left at least 14 points off the board.

Our red zone offense has sucked all year. I don't know why we cannot score from 10 yards in.

Great question for Lashlee....

The answer is simple. To consistantly score in a compressed area, you have to dominate the offensive line.

Our o-line wins when the other teams gets tired. We ran much fewer plays than normal tonight and the result is that our offensive line never got on the front foot. J Thomas will become a dominant blocker, but right now we don't have one. We have a bunch of average players (not bad), but if they are banged up at all they are going to struggle a little.

Also, once Roberson went out, we couldn't leave a TE to block because we needed Granson in the pass pattern. That is something to keep your eye on. Houston was able to generate a consistent pass rush tonight.

Get the Jimmys and Joes straightened out, then go after the Xs and Os. Next year, we will have enough depth on the line and maturity that the o-line should move past "average". Conversion rates will go way up.

Really glad that we have a couple of extra days to get ready for Memphis.

We could use those extra days to draw up some plays for Roberson is out and Proche is doubled up other than dive left.
